What Do Satellites Do?
Satellites do many different things. One example is they collect data and analyze that data to figure out more things about Earth and space. Another example is they take pictures of things and they send them back down to an Earth ground control station.
Another thing that satellites do is orbit Earth. While they're orbiting Earth, they take pictures of different things in space. When the pictures are sent back down to Earth, the people in the control center can look at the pictures and make suggestions and choices about the land and water based on those pictures.
